9 1/2 Spoons 🥄 of Sugar in a can of Coke! After learning that I need a cup of tea! ☕️

Iced Tea - The Healthy Alternative to Coke!
Iced Tea Makes a Deliciously Refreshing and Healthy Alternative to Soda

Why is Soda Bad For You?

One of the main reasons that soda is bad for you is due to the high sugar content. A regular can of Coke contains about 9 1/2 teaspoons of sugar. That’s staggering!

Imagine grabbing a glass from your kitchen cabinet, adding 9 1/2 teaspoons of sugar and then topping it up with water… would you drink it?

In many cases, people that suffer with obesity, are not fat because of the food they’re eating, but because of the supersize soda drinks that come with it. Food fills you up, when you feel full you don’t want to eat any more. But it’s very easy to keep drinking soda, and putting way too much sugar into your system.

Iced tea provides a refreshing and healthy alternative to soda

If you’re looking for a healthy alternative to soda then iced tea is the perfect solution. However it is worth noting that many brands of iced tea include high levels of sugar too.

Lipton iced tea has less sugar than soda, so it’s definitely a better option but the sugar content is still high. Most soda drinks have between 10% and 12% sugar content, whereas Liptons Iced Tea comes in at just 4.5%

Of course, you could always make your own iced tea, which gives you full control over how much sugar (if any) you decide to add. There are plenty of healthy options available that you can use in place of sugar, such as Stevia.

Don’t drink too much iced tea

Studies have shown that iced tea can reduce your risk of cancer, help weight loss and lower your blood pressure. But you need to drink it in moderation, too much iced tea can cause oxalic acid deposits to build up in your kidneys which hinders your body’s ability to remove waste from your blood.

Of course, you’d need to drink a lot to be at risk of that!

Other benefits of drinking iced tea in place of soda…

1 It’s better for your teeth

Iced tea is better for your teeth than soda, but not just because of the reduced sugar content. Research has shown that tea changes the PH value of your mouth, which can prevent cavities from developing.

2 A suprisingly high source of antioxidants

We all know that tea is a good source of antioxidants, do you know how good? Tea contains 8 to 10 times more polyphenol antioxidants than most fruits and vegetables. That’s almost as staggering as the amount of sugar crammed into a can of Coke!

3 It could help reduce the risk of cancer

Numerous studies have indicated that compounds found in tea (in particular epigallocatechin gallate) can help reduce and even fight cancer.

4 Tea keeps your heart healthy

One very impressive study concluded that people who drink four or more cups of green tea per day have a 32% lower chance of suffering from a heart attack. 32% is huge!! It’s almost as huge as the amount of sugar crammed into a can of Coke! 😝

5 An efficient source of manganese

Manganese helps to maintain your metabolism it strengthens your bones and it boosts healing. Did you know that one cup of tea can provide between a quarter and a third of the recommended daily dose of manganese? That’s a lot, some might say that it’s almost as much as… 🤣
